Proper Testing MInimizes Differences

Homeopathy supporters claim the lepto test in Cuba was a proper test
Bizarrely the Finlay institutes did regular and magic vaccine work on lepto. With regular vaccine, they did everything properly and published results in a Cuban medical journal. Unfortunately, the vaccine is too expensive to vaccinate everyone.

The magic vaccine isn't classic homeopathy and would be rejected by homeopaths.

At a cost of $200,000 and without small scale tests, they vaccinated 95% of 2 million people with magic. And claimed a great victory for non-homeopathy homeopathy.

I don't care if it is a real drug or a magic drug: Any trial worth mentioning has got to be able to show that the only difference between two groups is that some got a drug and some didn't.

Sometimes you can't do that. That doesn't mean we can't use a difference in results between this year and last year.

Hmmmm....maybe. Tell me about the disease. Is it more like polio or smallpox or more like Cholera?

Like polio, you say. So we've got a disease that where there's not a huge range in cases between years. And it's a disease that isn't affected by changes to the environment. Polio is a warm weather disease. We know it's infectious but we can't cut down its numbers through public health or changes in our behavior. We can start here and get preliminary results.

Like Cholera, you say. Forget it, I say. Start again with a new population an do it properly.

That's why the 'study' is useless.
